Dhothi of the suspected thief is being smelt by the police dog
The Police searching for clues
Investigation by branch Assistant Commisioner Mr. Jaya Chandran
Loud shouts of the watchman, continuous banging on the door awakened the sisters of St.Joseph’s Convent, Calicut to the grim reality that St.Angela’s U.P.School Office room was on fire. The sire reached the roof top, tiles came shattering down. The major part of the roof was burnt. It was 2.30. am Tuesday August 3rd that this tragedy took place. It is indeed a mystery to us. There was robbery no doubt, but why destruction?. The fire brigade soon came to our rescue doused the fire, nevertheless the scene before us could not easily be blotted out from our memory. Burnt furniture including cupboards about 20 steel and wooden chairs, tables, TV, clock, paintings, reference books and laboratory equipments but above all office files and documents. Property worth lakhs was destroyed. Investigation is going on but the loss is uncountable especially because it being a long standing school hundred and forty years the oldest of its kind in Calicut. The School is just opposite to St.Joseph’s Anglo Indian School and the Religious staff there belongs to St.Joseph’s Convent, Community.
Words are too few to express our grief
But the Master of All things is our relief
All things pass away. God alone sufficeth.
